Biography Memorial of July Movement Martyrs Published

The July 2024 Revolution Martyrs Memorial. Beloved Bangladesh, rich in resources and potential, had been suffering under fascist rule for more than fifteen and a half years. From this dire situation, the nation was liberated through the mass uprising of students and the public in July-August 2024. Through this uprising, people from all levels of society took to the streets against the fascist regime. To suppress the movement, the ousted fascist Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered indiscriminate firing. As a result, hundreds of students and people from various professions were shot dead. More than 10,000 people suffered some form of injury or disability. Such indiscriminate killings by a government against its own people are unprecedented, and the courageous and historic role played by the young students to free the country from fascism is a rare example in the world.

In this context, the need was felt to document and preserve the incredible sacrifices and struggles of the students and the public. In light of this reality, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has undertaken the initiative to publish this commemorative book titled Martyrs of the Second Independence in ten volumes, compiling information about the brothers and sisters who embraced martyrdom across various districts during the mass uprising of July-August. We express our gratitude to Almighty Allah for enabling us to publish this memorial book. Our volunteers have collected information at the grassroots level, edited it with necessary designs, and completed the printing process. May Allah accept the efforts and dedication of all involved.

For those who sacrificed their lives to free the country from the dark grip of fascism and to provide the people of this nation with the opportunity to breathe in a free environment, may Almighty Allah accept them all as martyrs. For those who are injured and receiving treatment in hospitals, may Allah grant them a speedy recovery. Amen.
