Incident Details & Martyrdom Narrative

Sheikh Mehdi Hasan Junaid (14) was a seventh-grade student at Will Power School in Jatrabari. His village home is in Munshiganj district. The family lives on the east side of Dhupkhola Pond in Gandaria. Fearing the loss of his power, Pharaoh did not hesitate to kill children. Sheikh Hasina, the head of the fascist government of Bangladesh, did the same. She killed countless children and teenagers. Junaid is one of the teenage martyrs. To commemorate Junaid's martyrdom, the locals have named the square next to the pond Junaid Square.
How He Became a Martyr
Sheikh Hasina has done all kinds of reprehensible things to stay in power. All misdeeds were done at her behest. She has severely violated human rights by torturing the people of the country in various ways. When human rights organizations criticized her actions, she put them in jail. Children were not spared from her cruelty. Sheikh Mehdi Hasan Junaid was a 14-year-old teenager. Killer Hasina's police did not hesitate to kill him. From the beginning of July, students became angry due to the re-implementation of the freedom fighter quota. After a failed China tour, Sheikh Hasina declared the meritorious students protesting against the quota as grandchildren of Razakars at a press conference. In protest, slogans arose in various halls of Dhaka University around nine o'clock at night, "Who are you? Who am I? Razakar! Razakar! Who said, who said? Autocrat! Autocrat!"
On July 16, Chhatra League goons attacked the peaceful protests called by students in various places, and Abu Saeed in Rangpur, Wasim, Shanto, Farooq in Chittagong, and Sabuj Ali and Shahjahan in Dhaka were martyred by police bullets. As a result, ordinary students expelled Chhatra League leaders and workers from various universities and declared them 'politics-free'. Chhatra League and Jubo League goons, along with the police, continued to attack students in various places.
There were widespread injuries and loss of life in the attacks. 40 students and the public were shot on July 18, and several hundred on July 19. Every day, someone was being arrested, injured, or killed by the League forces. The illegal government started mass arrests by filing thousands of cases. Harun, who was nicknamed the owner of the rice hotel at the DB office, arrested student leaders. The government shut down mobile and internet communications.
According to a July 27 newspaper report, 9,121 people were arrested in 11 days. People started leaving their homes in fear. Due to the mobile internet being shut down for a week, the people of the country were living in fear. Sheikh Hasina prepared to carry out genocide. The India-controlled Hasina government issued a notification banning Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir. The public understood the Awami League's intentions. On August 4, Awami terrorists again attacked student-public protest marches across the country, including the capital Dhaka. On this day, Awami terrorists shot students along with the police. But thousands of students resisted the terrorists and invading police BGB with bricks, stones, and sticks. Former Gazipur Mayor Jahangir came to attack with his forces. He started shooting and killing students. Brave students and the public caught Jahangir's terrorist forces. Jahangir fled after being beaten. Seeing the student-public resistance in various places, the forces of the autocratic government prepared to carry out genocide. On August 4, at least 130 people were killed across the country.
The student public gave a program of a long march towards Dhaka the next day. From the morning of August 5, the police, BGB, and army took a very aggressive position. A fragmented war started between the students and the public all over Dhaka city. At 1 pm, people learned that Hasina had fled. In extreme joy, people started distributing sweets in every alley across the country and hugged each other saying Eid Mubarak. People started prostrating to Allah on the streets, thanking Him. The protesting students and the public broke all the statues of the autocrat Mujib at various intersections in the country. Police and Awami terrorists fled and went into hiding. A small number were injured and killed in the wrath of the students and the public. In the capital, the public went to the Parliament and Ganabhaban and offered Shukrana prayers (prayers of gratitude).
Sheikh Mehdi Hasan Junaid and his family were supporting the movement against the autocratic Hasina government. On August 5, when a joy procession was taken out across the country after Sheikh Hasina fled to India, Mehdi Hasan joined a procession. Mehdi Hasan was seen at the front of the procession in front of Burhanuddin College Gate in Chankharpul area. Even though killer Hasina had fled, her pet police force was still shooting at the public across the country at that moment. The police also fired shots at the processions in the Chankharpul area. Sheikh Mehdi Hasan, along with many students and the public, was shot there. A police bullet entered the front of his head and exited the back of his head. He died immediately.
How is His Family Doing?
