Md. Junayed Hossain

Md. Junayed Hossain is one of the martyrs of the mass uprising of 2024. He was born in Bil Deunia village, Naria Thana, Shariatpur district. Shaheed Md. Junayed Hossain was a lathe worker by profession.
Personal Life and Family's Economic Condition
Shaheed's father, Shah Alam Faraji, is a farmer and is physically ill. Junayed Hossain's mother, Dolly Akhter, is a housewife. Due to illness, Shah Alam Faraji is unable to farm properly. Being unable to meet the family's expenses, his family sent Junayed Hossain to Dhaka for work. Junayed took a job as a lathe worker. At this young age, he had to shoulder the burden of the family. His death has left the family financially very helpless.
How Md. Junayed Hossain Became a Shaheed
After finishing lunch, Junayed Hossain went out on the street at 5:30 pm on July 19th. His purpose was to go to work and join his duties. That day, there was a student demonstration against discrimination on the streets. The police and Awami League terrorist forces of the autocratic government attacked the peaceful student demonstration. The government forces tried to remove the students from the streets by continuously firing tear gas shells, shotgun pellets, and throwing hand grenades. In such a heated situation, Junayed Hossain was shot on the street. Initially, everyone failed to come forward to rescue him. After some time, with the help of some brave students, he was taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical Hospital, and then to the National Heart Institute. Due to the search by the police and BGB forces in the hospitals, and because of their restrictions, the doctors expressed their inability to provide medical services to those injured in the movement like Junayed. Some students secretly tried to get treatment by writing different diseases on the files. While undergoing treatment in the said hospital, he died the next day (July 20th).
Reaction of His Elder Uncle About the Martyr
The elder uncle said about the martyr: Junayed always spoke to me with respect. He would greet me whenever he saw me. He did not associate with any bad boys; rather, he thought about his family. But due to the family's financial hardship, he could not study.
