Asir Intisharul Haque

Shaheed Asir Intisharul Haque was born on June 23, 2003. His birthplace is Ujan Boilor, a shady and scenic village in Boilor Union, Trishal Upazila of Mymensingh. He was the first child of A.H.M. Enamul Haque and Nazmun Nahar. Shaheed Intisharul Haque was a student by profession. He studied at Trishal Kathal High School and College.
His father, Enamul Haque (52), is a businessman. They are financially quite well off. His father has a fish and poultry feed business, from which they earn 50,000-60,000 Taka per month. However, he suffered considerable losses in his business during the movement. Although he is not affiliated with any political party, some miscreants attacked his shop. His mother, Nazmun Nahar (45), is a housewife.
He was the eldest of three brothers. His two other brothers are Basirul Haque Mahi (19), a first-year intermediate student, and the youngest, Mubin (10), who has completed his Hifz (memorization of the Quran).
How He Became a Martyr:
Shaheed Asir Intishar was a protesting activist during the anti-discrimination student-people's movement in July 2024. He was also a participant in the Long March to Dhaka program. When the anti-discrimination student-people's movement called for a Long March to Dhaka on August 5th, Shaheed Intishar set out for Dhaka with three friends. He also joined some small processions that day.
To thwart their long march, BGB members opened fire on them when they reached Maona Palli Bidyut Mor around 4 pm. Two bullets pierced his body. One bullet entered his right side of the abdomen and exited through the other side. Another bullet hit his right arm. He immediately fell to the ground. Due to the lack of a vehicle, this protesting youth was martyred on the spot, drowning in a sea of blood before he could be taken to the hospital.
What Else is Known About the Martyr:
Respectful to elders, cooperative with peers, and a protesting spirit against injustice – these special qualities define Shaheed Asir Intisharul Haque. This young man, beloved by all, was the heart of his family. Despite being one of the meritorious students of Trishal Kathal High School and College, he could not ultimately bear the responsibility of his parents' future. He left everyone in a sea of grief and went to an unreachable world.
The departure of Intishar, the ideal elder brother of Bashirul Haque Mahi and Mubin, created a great atmosphere of mourning in his area, family, among his classmates, and at his educational institution. It gives rise to regret that he did not see the dawn after the victory for which he fought so hard. That dawn only brought cries and wails to his house. The sky was heavy and rained.
At this difficult time of losing their supportive eldest son, his parents plead for justice for his killers and for him to be given state honors. They also wish that Allah Almighty will accept Shaheed Asir Intisharul Haque as a guest in Paradise.
Feelings of Martyred Relatives:
His uncle, Md. Nazmul Haque, said about the martyr, "Intishar memorized one para of the Quran in his childhood. He had a good relationship with his peers and he loved to travel. Good behavior with everyone, helping people, and a protesting mentality – these were among his characteristics."
Md. Mehedi Hasan, a childhood friend and fellow movement participant of the martyr, narrated the incident: "On August 5th, at 11 am, we took a CNG from Trishal to Maona and joined the anti-discrimination student-people's movement procession there. At this time, the BGB fired indiscriminately to stop the students. This made many students shot and the students became even more angry. At 3 pm, after the news of Sheikh Hasina's resignation, they continued to rally and march. The BGB continued to fire. Intishar was shot on the spot. Due to the lack of a vehicle, he could not be taken to the hospital quickly. Later, even though a microbus was found, it was of no use. He died in the microbus before being taken to the hospital."
