Muhammed Kabir Hossain

Martyr Kabir was born on January 1, 1997, in a very poor family in the village of Swalpapunia, Pagla police station, Datter Bazar Union, Mymensingh district. Shaheed Kabir Hossain was the fifth of seven children born to the couple Abdur Rahman and Jamila Khatun. Shaheed Kabir, one of the family's main breadwinners, worked as a mason.

On August 5, 2024, Shaheed Kabir spontaneously participated in the ongoing anti-discrimination student-public movement at Sreepur One Dar Mor. He joined the movement on behalf of the common people to stand against injustice and oppression. During the procession, some members of the Chhatra League suddenly snatched weapons from the BGB and started firing. The BGB then became agitated and started firing at the crowd. In the midst of this violence, a bullet struck Shaheed Kabir Hossain's head. Seriously injured by the bullet, Shaheed Kabir was immediately rescued by his comrades and sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. His condition deteriorated rapidly, and he was admitted to the ICU. But in the end, on August 8, 2024, Shaheed Kabir ended his worldly journey and attained the nearness of his Lord. Kabir's untimely death not only saddened his family but also the entire village. He was buried in his own village.
