His elder brother, Md. Sohel, has a small job. His second brother, Jewel, is a student, and his youngest brother, Ashraful Islam Royal, is currently unemployed. Their family was sustained by the elder brother's small salary and the father's tireless labor. In the meantime, Rubel's well-paying job came as a blessing to this family. Rubel, a professional employee, worked at Rakin City in Mirpur-13, Dhaka. His monthly salary was approximately 40,000 taka. Everyone in the family had a sigh of relief. In fact, Martyr Tarikul Islam Rubel took the entire burden of the family on his shoulders because of this job.

With Rubel's death, his brother's education and his family have fallen into deep crisis. Currently, the entire family is living in hardship with the small salary from his elder brother's job and the little income from his father's agricultural work. They don't have their own agricultural land. As a result, they have to cultivate on other people's land to make a living.
How He Became a Martyr
The whole country was turbulent in July. The anti-discrimination student and public movement was underway. After Abu Saeed was killed by police bullets on July 16, the student movement across the country reached its peak. On one hand, there was a complete student shutdown, and on the other hand, the autocratic government imposed a curfew to suppress the movement.
That day was July 19. Rubel was returning home from his office in Mirpur after finishing his duty. It was approximately 8 pm. At that time, there was a clash between anti-discrimination student protesters and the police on the streets. He fell into the middle of that clash. To protect himself, he hid under a van on the side of the road. After a while, he peeked out from under the van to see the situation. At that very moment, two bullets fired by the murderous police hit his head. Both bullets hit him at the same time, causing his skull to fly off and his brain to scatter 10 feet away. He died instantly. The protesters at the scene preserved his body. According to the family, if the protesters hadn't removed the body that day, the police might have made Rubel's body disappear, and the family would never have found it.
Later, after receiving news from the protesters, Rubel's cousin brought the body, and it was buried in Panchagram Graveyard in Hasla village, Damiha Union, Tarail Thana, Kishoreganj District. A large number of people attended the martyr's funeral, and all the villagers present shed tears for Rubel.
More Information About the Martyr
Martyr Tarikul Islam Rubel was a shining example of what a comforting son is to his parents. Rubel was the apple of his parents' eyes and their peace of mind. From his adolescence, he had a reputation as a simple and virtuous boy among his family and locals.
The elderly father struggled to support an 8-member family with the limited income from agricultural work. Therefore, to alleviate the family's poverty, Rubel took a job at a private company in Dhaka. Due to the good salary, he could give his parents a significant amount of money every month according to his ability. In a sense, Rubel took the entire responsibility of the family on his shoulders. Their family was running quite well in this way. Rubel never made his parents, brothers, and sisters ask for anything. Rubel, 23 years old, tried to fulfill everyone's needs. Suddenly, a dark cloud of sorrow descended on this beautiful and happy family. The autocratic, cannibalistic, murderous Hasina carried out massacres on innocent students and the public to cling to power. He fell into the middle of it. His life's light went out. A dark shadow of sorrow fell on a happy family.
Rubel's neighbors and locals said that he was a very good person. When he came home during Eid, he would help poor people as much as he could. He would buy bats, cricket balls, and footballs for the village boys to play. He himself liked to play sports. His dream was to build a brick house for his parents. He never argued, fought, or cursed with anyone. Rubel was a very good boy.
After Rubel's death, the entire village mourned for him. His parents are distraught and grief-stricken after losing their earning and young son.
Rubel's elder brother's small salary from his small job and his father's limited income from agricultural work on other people's land are not enough to support such a large family. Therefore, to help the family, his younger brother Royal has also started learning a job. In this situation, Rubel's family demands that Rubel's killers be brought to justice and that Rubel be given state honors. At the same time, as Rubel, the family's financial provider, gave his life for the country, they expect government assistance due to their financial hardship.
