Kishoreganj is well-known as a Haor (wetland ecosystem) area. All around, there's water, and people live within it. One such area is Bhatinagar. Bhatinagar is part of Austagram Upazila in Kishoreganj. A child arrived, illuminating the laps of Harikanta Das and Sabita Rani Das, residents of this area. The child was named Tanoy Chandra Das. Tanoy Chandra Das came into the world on August 31, 2005. The birth of this child made everyone joyful, especially bringing a touch of happiness to the hearts of his father and mother. Before Tanoy Das, Harikanta Das had two more children, but both died after birth. Therefore, Tanoy Das's birth brought unique happiness to the family. The family started dreaming again. It can be said that the family became happy and hopeful again.

Here, he was studying in the eleventh grade. Tanoy was talented, but family poverty was his companion. That's why Tanoy joined work. He worked in a shop in Board Bazar, Gazipur, Dhaka.
Tanoy's Martyrdom
The anti-discrimination movement was going on vigorously. A large number of students and the public had taken to the streets across the country. Meanwhile, the government had shut down the internet. There was a communication blackout everywhere, but the movement didn't stop. Everyone was taking to the streets on their own initiative from their respective places. The movement was becoming more intense day by day. Like other places across the country, the student and public movement was going on in Board Bazar, Gazipur. Tanoy Chandra Das lived here. He was working as a shop employee. There were four other employees with him there. On the day of the incident, a few of them went out of the shop to have tea and snacks during their daily work break. While passing through Board Bazar, heavy gunfire was going on. A bullet hit Tanoy Chandra Das in the neck. He was taken to the hospital, but he had already died.
A Shadow of Grief Descended
After the deaths of two children in a row, Tanoy Chandra Das's birth had brought great joy to the family. But alas! The illusion of life came to an end. The mother was distraught after saying goodbye to her beloved son.
Mother Sabita Rani Das, hugging her son's picture to her chest, said while crying, "What crime did my son commit? Why was my innocent, harmless son shot and killed? To whom should I seek justice?" She further said while crying, "My son never ate rice without me. He always behaved well with everyone. He talked to everyone with a smile. I raised my son with great difficulty. I have only one child."
