Kuddus Mia

Martyr Kuddus Mia was a protesting voice against injustice. He was born in Chengahati village, Bajitpur Thana, Kishoreganj, a district of exquisite beauty. His father, Md. Jalal Mia, is a farmer by profession, and his mother, Rabeya Khatun, is a homemaker. Kuddus Mia has one brother and one sister. He was the middle child among his siblings. They had a poverty-stricken family. As a result, Kuddus Mia could not study. From an early age, he took up farming with his father. He used to help his father with work. He was a kind-hearted person.
Kuddus Mia was married. His wife's name is Farzana Akter. She is a homemaker. They have two sons and one daughter. Son Noyon Mia and daughter Muni Akter are studying. Another son is young, currently about two and a half years old. When Kuddus Mia was martyred, his wife was 8 months pregnant.
How Kuddus Mia Became a Martyr
On August 5th, the anti-discrimination student and public movement announced a one-point demand. The main protest location was Shahbag, Dhaka. However, the government shut down the internet. As a result, everyone participated in the movement from their respective locations.
Like the rest of the country, students and the public took to the streets in Bajitpur Bazar, Kishoreganj. Martyr Kuddus Mia participated in the movement here. It is reported that he left his house in the morning. He joined the protest with peaceful and unarmed students and the public protesting in front of Morog Mohol in Bajitpur Bazar. The protest continued. The murderous police and terrorist Chhatra League obstructed the protesters. As a result, there was a chase, counter-chase, and stone-throwing between the students and the police-Chhatra League. At one point, a brick thrown by terrorist Chhatra League hit Kuddus Mia. The brick hit him in the chest. He collapsed on the spot. Students immediately took him to a nearby house. Later, with the help of family and students, he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty declared him dead after examination.
Current Economic Condition of the Family
Shaheed Kuddus Mia has two sons and one daughter. His one son and one daughter are studying. Another is young, two and a half years old. His wife is 8 months pregnant. She has no source of income. Currently, although the martyr's brother is helping, it is insufficient compared to the needs. They are living in extreme economic hardship.
