Incident Details & Martyrdom Narrative

Martyr Md. Mostafa was born on March 15, 2002, in Dhalirband village, Mohishbathaan Union, Madarganj Thana, Jamalpur District. His father, Mohammad Swapan Mia, works in a textile mill, and his mother, Morjina Begum, is a homemaker. Mostafa had passed his HSC from BMD Technical School and College. To shoulder the responsibilities of his parents, wife, and two younger brothers, he sacrificed his studies and took a job as a Production Operator at Sadma Garments in Gazipur.
Context of Martyrdom
Shaheed Mostafa was a staunch supporter of the anti-discrimination movement. He resided in the Mouchak area of Gazipur. On August 5th, at 4:00 PM, he left his house and while having tea with his company boss at a shop, he heard that Sheikh Hasina's government had fallen. At this moment, Martyr Mostafa joined the joyous procession of anti-discrimination students and the public. When the police fired at the procession, Mostafa was shot and immediately embraced martyrdom. Although Mostafa died on August 5th, his body was not found. The next day, on August 6th, at 10:00 AM, Martyr Mostafa's body was found in a jungle approximately four kilometers inside the Safipur Ansar Academy. On August 5th, when he talked to his wife about joining the joyous procession of the anti-discrimination student movement, she forbade him. So, he locked her inside, gave the key to a neighbor, and went to participate in the victory procession. Several bullet marks were found on his body. His family recovered his body after receiving a phone call from a neighbor.
Feelings of Relatives After Martyrdom
Martyr Mostafa was a religious person. He used to offer five daily prayers from a very young age. He never missed prayers. He tried to help people. Therefore, people were deeply saddened by the passing of the humble and polite Martyr Mostafa. He joined the movement despite his wife's objections. Thus, his wife, Nurunnahar, said, "If I had known that my husband would not return, I would have stopped him with all my strength." She further said, "I have no children. There is no way or source of income. Financial assistance is needed to run the household." His grieving mother said, "I have nothing, no land, no money.
My son used to take care of me. He used to take care of everyone. I got my son married, but they haven't had children yet. My son's life is over. Who will take care of us now?" In this situation, she demanded a fair trial for her son's murder. She also demanded that the government extend financial assistance to their family so that his widowed wife and younger brothers can have a slightly better future.
