Incident Details & Martyrdom Narrative

Martyr Md. Masum Sheikh was born in 1994 in Kokail Hoykhond, Mymensingh. His father, Abdur Razzak, is deceased, and his 70-year-old mother, Rahela Khatun, is ill. He joined Tongi Garments as a Quality Master. He had a good life with his wife, Nadia, and his two-and-a-half-year-old son, Mofiz. Sheikh Masum Sheikh was attacked by police gunfire at 5 pm. Three bullets entered his body. One bullet entered one side of his stomach and exited through the other side. Another bullet entered his chest and exited. The last bullet entered the left side of his eye and exited. Passersby took him to Crescent Hospital in a bullet-ridden condition. He embraced martyrdom on the way.
Background of Martyrdom
The police played a catalytic role in sustaining the misrule of the murderous Hasina government. They were the ones who essentially kept Hasina's illegitimate fascist government in power. This corrupt circle, which had illegally amassed millions and millions of Takas, wanted to prolong the Awami misrule for their own benefit. There was no alleyway in the criminal world with which they did not have ties. They had close relationships with drug traffickers and buyers and sellers, border smugglers, and known and illegal occupiers. The illegal occupiers were their close friends. They were the ones who spontaneously prepared millions of fabricated cases against opposition leaders, were 100% involved in disappearances, murders, terrorism, and extortion; by completely suppressing the opposition, ensured the illegal government's night-time votes, extorted money on the roads and streets, held the general public hostage and harassed them, and were directly involved in thousands of such crimes.
Therefore, the hatred towards the Awami fascists was a thousand times greater than the hatred towards this police administration. The police had become a name of terror. The public felt that if the police could be stopped, the government would fall on its own. That is why there was so much anger and rage against the police. This can be seen by looking at the police outposts after the victory on August 5th. All the outposts in the whole of Bangladesh were burned down simultaneously. This shows the extent of people's hatred towards the police administration.
On August 5th, Shaheed Md. Masum Sheikh participated in the movement. The struggling students and the public of this movement built a strong resistance movement against the Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League, and the police. Due to the intensity of the movement, the administration was forced to give in. The murderous Hasina had fled to Delhi. The anger and rage of the victorious people fell on the police outposts. At one point, the students and the public surrounded the Uttara police station. Immediately afterward, the police began firing mercilessly at the crowd. Three bullets directly hit Shaheed Md. Masum Sheikh. His body was pierced through and through. One bullet entered one side of his stomach and exited through the other side. Another bullet entered his chest. The last bullet entered his left eye and exited. He fell on the street in a bloody condition. Passersby quickly took him to Crescent Hospital. The doctor on duty declared him dead.
