His relatives ran from hospital to hospital searching for his body. Finally, ten days later, they confirmed his death by looking at a picture at Anjuman Mofidul Islam in Dhaka. The martyr's father was informed that he had been buried in the Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard in Mirpur.
Recollections of the Martyr's Relatives
The martyr's father said, "We have been living with our family in the Mohammadpur area of Dhaka for almost 24 years. Our only son, Mahin, was a pickup truck driver. On July 18th, Mahin's wife came to visit me at my house. At around seven in the evening, police gunfire and attacks by Awami League people started near my son's house. Mahin informed me about this over the phone and told his wife to go home as a precaution. I also told my son to be careful. Mahin then stopped talking.
After searching for a long time, we found his body, and I heard that he was buried in the Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard." The martyr's mother, Josna Begum, said, "Because my son and his first wife didn't have any children after 11 years of marriage, we arranged a second marriage for him. Eight months ago, his second wife gave birth to a son, but soon after, his first wife also became pregnant. I lost my son, and his son has become an orphan. We still haven't received any documents regarding his death. We demand justice for our son's murder."
