Incident Details & Martyrdom Narrative

Khalid Hasan Saifullah was an eleventh-grade student at Dhanmondi Ideal College. His father's name is Kamrul Hasan and his mother's name is Nilufa Yasmin. Khalid's village home is in Faridpur district. He was born on May 29, 2008, in Faridpur.
How He Became a Martyr
The killer Hasina and her illegal government wanted to perpetuate their power by appointing party workers to jobs. Therefore, they introduced the quota system, making it difficult for meritorious individuals to get jobs. Many meritorious students, after completing their studies and not getting any appointments, chose the path of death. Students started an anti-discrimination movement against the quota system. Their peaceful movement was repeatedly thwarted by the controversial, killer, terrorist, and rapist organization, Chhatra League. On July 16, 6 students, including Abu Saeed, were killed in the movement. Chhatra League attacked ordinary students with weapons.
On July 17, angry students declared Chhatra League unwelcome from the halls of Dhaka University. They held a coffin procession on the streets. Although the peaceful coffin procession was disrupted by police tear gas, baton charges, and hand grenades. Students called for a complete shutdown across the country. Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League terrorists, along with the police, started a house-to-house arrest operation in the darkness of the night. From July 18, students were not allowed to enter colleges and universities. On this day, an unimaginable incident occurred. Private university students took to the streets in front of their respective universities. On July 18, about 40 students and citizens were martyred. More than a hundred students were injured. Hospitals were forbidden by the police to admit the injured. Some humanitarian hospitals admitted the injured by writing about different diseases. On the other hand, the corrupt police were reluctant to hand over the bodies of the deceased to their families. Money transactions were required to take the bodies. Hospitals were strictly forbidden to write in the 'Death Certificate' of the deceased that they were killed in the movement. Many bodies were buried showing them as unidentified.
Khalid Hasan Saifullah participated in the student-public movement. Due to government restrictions, correct news was not available on TV channels. The people of the country got all the news through Facebook and YouTube. Khalid was shot in the back of the head while taking position in the movement next to the 7th floor building of Peestala Bhaban, Staff Quarter, Azimpur, at 5:45 pm on July 18. He immediately fell to the ground. Then, the killer police of killer Hasina directly aimed their guns and fired pellets at him. 70 bullet marks were found on his body. Thinking he was dead, they left. Khalid Hasan was still alive. At one point, students tried to rescue Khalid and take him to the hospital. But on the way, Awami League and Chhatra League terrorists armed with knives, daggers, shotguns, etc., blocked them from going to the hospital. There, Khalid Hasan Saifullah was martyred. After confirming his death, the terrorists allowed the helpers to leave. At 6:15 pm, the doctor of Dhaka Medical Hospital informed that Khalid Hasan had died long ago.
Initially, his family was not given the body of the deceased. His family went to different police stations and pleaded many times but could not receive the body. Later, the family received the martyr's body with a death certificate stating that he was not killed by police bullets.

Khalid Hasan's father works as an assistant teacher in a madrasa. His mother, Nilufa Yasmin, is a housewife. They have one bigha of land in the village. The village house is old.
