Incident Details & Martyrdom Narrative

July 36th, the name is symbolic. The day of liberation from the sighs of the people of Bengal. The day of the fall of the autocrat. The news of the fall of the autocrat was supposed to be joyous. Even in this joyous atmosphere, many sacrificed their lives for liberation, to protect it. One such brave hero was Faisal Hossain.
Martyr Faisal Hossain was born on October 30, 1999, in Puratan Kasba, Jessore district. His father's name is MM Kabir Hossain. The mother of this martyr is Hosne Ara Parveen. Martyr Faisal Hossain was studying in the final year of his Masters in the LMM Department at the Islamic University. His father has a contracting business, which is the family's source of income. His two other brothers are one serving in the Air Force, and the other living with his family in the United Kingdom.
Overall Description of the Incident
Martyr Faisal Hossain had been involved in the Anti-Discrimination Movement since the beginning of July. He would go out every day in the morning as a matter of routine. On August 1st, he went out around 12 noon and returned home in the evening. Amidst the heated struggles of August 3rd, Faisal Hossain went out for the movement around 11 am. On the 4th, he gathered with some friends at the New Market area, a total of 9 people, and after returning home that day, when his mother forbade him from participating in the movement, he tried to explain to his mother by showing her pictures of those killed and injured in the movement on his mobile phone.
On the 5th, he was sitting at home watching TV. After the fall of the government on August 5th, he participated in the victory procession with his friends. At that time, hearing about the arson attack by miscreants at the Zabeer Hotel in Jessore, he participated in the rescue work there with his friends. At approximately 3:45 pm, Faisal Hossain fell into the encirclement of fire. In the meantime, he called his father and said, "Dad, I am trapped in Zabeer Hotel, save me." Faisal's father immediately asked his younger son, who was working in the Air Force, to arrange for a helicopter and himself went to the front of Zabeer Hotel to try to rescue him. When a helicopter arrived, he hoped that his son could now be saved. But the helicopter made two or three rounds over Zabeer Hotel and rescued only one person and left. While trying to rescue him, Faisal's father became ill and the students took care of him and sent him to the hospital. Faisal could not get out of the fire. He finally embraced martyrdom. Later, Shaheed Faisal's body was identified from the morgue of Jessore Sadar Hospital and brought home.
This Anti-Discrimination and subsequent movement to remove the autocrat was successful with the participation of people from all walks of life. Taking risks with their lives, even after the victory, young people like Shaheed Faisal were so immersed in the work of protecting the country and saving people that they forgot about their own safety. Their sacrifice brought novelty to the July Revolution and is also inspiring to unite and join hands to rebuild the country.
Individual Faisal's Achievements
Faisal Hossain was a final year student at the Islamic University of Kushtia. He had learned the Korean language and was waiting for a scholarship. He was widely known for his active participation and bravery in the movement. Faisal's father, MM Kabir Hossain, runs a contracting business. Family's Expression
Whenever the memory of his son comes up, Kabir Hossain, the proud father of Shaheed Faisal, breaks down in tears. Recalling the memories, he says, “My son was very good. Since he didn't have a sister, he always helped his mother with her work and always ran to help people. He shared everything with me like a friend. His bravery and humanity will be remembered forever in our family.”
What to do in memory of the martyr
We should not forget the martyrs like Faisal, stand by the bereaved families, and assure the martyr's family. The martyr's father has lost a son. But he has got back hundreds of sons who won the war. May all these Ghazis (living heroes) be by the side of the bereaved martyr's family. Shaheed Faisal and others are our assets. We must bear the trust of their martyrdom. It is our responsibility to realize the dream for which they sacrificed their lives. Only then will our country become a true Golden Bengal.
