Background of the Incident
The arrogance of prolonged power blinds people. People forget that however long the reign of power may be, it will end one day. The way the fascist Hasina government had been in power for so long, she assumed that no one could defeat her. That is why, in response to the students' logical demands, she was absorbed in arrogance. She forgot that young people can change the country if they want to. This is the lesson of history. "Merit, not quota" was the slogan of July 2024. Belittling the strength of thousands of youths, she pushed hundreds and thousands of lives towards death, bringing the country to a severely unstable situation. As a result, it did not take long to reach the single demand. The blood of hundreds of students forced the general public of Bangladesh to take to the field against the autocrat. Just one quota movement changed the history of Bangladesh. In the fight for rights, the people of Bangladesh have liberated the country for the second time. This independence was achieved in exchange for the blood of thousands of people. As a result, failing to control the situation, the fascist ruler Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country. A new foundation for Bangladesh began.
The widespread enthusiasm against ruling rulers around the world has one of its prime examples in the fall of autocrat Hasina. The fleeing of Bangladesh's longest-serving ruler, Sheikh Hasina, in the face of public outrage, reminds us how fragile even a strong regime can be in the face of public unity. Currently, July 2024 is a historical name for Bangladesh. The students' quota movement ensured the fall of the autocrat Hasina. Martyr Masud Rana was a benevolent and friendly person. He was a very gentle person to his relatives. He took care of everyone. In this critical moment of the country, that Masud Rana stood by the students as a guardian. When the outline of the movement gradually changed and the whole country became vocal with the single demand, Masud Rana also became active in the movement for the fall of the fascist Hasina.
How he was martyred
When thousands of students and the public were exploding in protests at various points in Dhaka city in the movement for the fall of the fascist Hasina government, Masud Rana stood by the protesting students. The time was August 4th. On that day, he was participating in the movement at Mirpur 10 and was busy providing water to the agitated students. While providing water, a police bullet hit his head. This incident happened at approximately 6:30 pm. He collapsed there on the ground in an injured condition. His friends and students from all around took him to the Agargaon Neuro Science Hospital.
