Practical Life
He married off his only daughter and kept her with him. He lived in a dilapidated two-room house with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson near the Charpara Thana embankment. He worked in the blood bank of Kushtia Sadar Hospital until the last day of his life. Shaheed Yusuf Sheikh spent almost his entire life in the hospital. As a person, he was extremely good. He performed his duties with great honesty. He tried to fulfill his religious responsibilities equally. He spent his time at Kushtia Sadar Hospital not for any illness of his own, but for the service of the people. The bullets fired by the monstrous police stopped his human service work forever.
The Day of Martyrdom
The students' quota reform movement at one point turned from an anti-discrimination movement into a movement to overthrow the fascist Hasina. Like the rest of the country, Kushtia also erupted in a one-point movement. Thousands of students and people, empty-handed, broke out in protests at various points in the city. On August 5, the movement took a final shape. People took out processions from various places in the capital, Dhaka, towards Ganobhaban. On that day, after leaving his workplace, the blood bank of Kushtia Sadar Hospital, he learned that his grandson had participated in the movement. He went out around 2:30 to look for his grandson. While searching, he got caught in a clash in front of the Kushtia Fire Service Station. At 3:30 pm, he was shot in front of the fire service and martyred on the spot. He who used to rush to the hospital with blood to save people's lives was killed by a beast in human form. What could be more heinous than this! The man who worked for people all his life, his wife is living helplessly. It is difficult for the locals and the hospital staff to accept this.
