The movement of 24
From the very beginning of the birth of Bangladesh, students have led various movements. Students led everywhere in 1947, 1952, 1971, 2015, 2018, 2024. However, the martyrs and Ghazis of the 2024 movement started for the first time in 2015 with the students. At that time, they joined the anti-VAT movement against the then dictator killer Hasina's government. Later, in 2018, they were also actively involved in the safe road campaign. Its tagline was 'We want justice.' Since then, the movement has brought the current generation together. They became steadfast in their positions and commitment to justice. To put an end to injustice, they battled together. At that time, further chants were repeated throughout Bangladesh.
Finally, these students played an important role in the quota reform movement of 2024 as well. On July 2, the severity of the movement was originated from the Dhaka University campus and spread across the country. The movement gradually gained momentum. From the very beginning of the movement, the killer police force and the terrorist force of the autocratic government continued to torture the agitating students indiscriminately.
From July 2 to August 5, students of various institutions in different parts of the country held rallies, human chains, highway blockades, etc. The anti-discrimination student movement organization announced various programs from the premises of the Oxford of the East, Dhaka University. The fascist Hasina's nurtured goons law enforcement agencies harassed the students and the public by using tear shells, rubber bullets, shotguns, disappearances, murders, torture, and cases to thwart the program.
The Awami's marked terrorists jumped on the general students with local weapons and rifles. After a long movement, the then killer ruler Sheikh Hasina announced a curfew on August 5, 2024, instilling fear. Breaking that curfew, the common students and the public took position in the alleys of the capital. Then at two o'clock, the media reported that Sheikh Hasina had resigned and fled the country. Millions of students and people across the country, including the streets of Dhaka, started celebrating victory by holding each other.
