Nasima Akter

Shaheed Nasima Akter was born on January 20, 2000, in Maizdee, Noakhali Sadar. At the age of twenty-four, Nasima studied up to the tenth grade at Sujapur Mohila Dakhil Madrasa and later received religious education at home. Her father was Haji Yusuf Ali, and her mother is Saleha Begum. Nasima's father is deceased.
Economic Condition of the Martyr
Nasima Akter's father is no longer alive. Their family's livelihood depended on the rent from their own house. This is currently their main source of income. Nasima was the youngest of her six siblings. She was a beloved and cherished younger sister. Among her siblings, her sisters are all married, her elder brother and younger brother are currently in Spain, and her middle brother is currently unemployed. Her mother is deeply saddened by the loss of her beloved daughter.
Context of Martyrdom Death
Nasima Akter had gone to visit her brother's house in the New Market area. On July 19th, in the afternoon, she went up to the roof with her two nephews. RAB fired shots from a helicopter that day. A bullet first injured Nasima's elder nephew. Before they could understand what was happening, another bullet hit Nasima in the head. The injured nephew somehow returned home and became unconscious. The family went to the roof and found Nasima shot. She was immediately taken to the hospital. But the bullet could not be removed by surgery. After struggling with death for two days, she finally breathed her last on the 21st in the ICU of Popular Hospital. Nasima's injured nephew also died.
Funeral and Burial
The martyr was buried in her village. May Allah grant her Jannat. The family has demanded justice for the deaths of Nasima and her nephew.
