Abdul Kaiyum

Shahid Abdul Kaiyum was born on April 19, 2007, in Norottampur village, Begumganj Thana, Noakhali District. His father's name is Ala Uddin, and his mother's name is Bibi Khodeja. Abdul Kaiyum was the youngest of four siblings. After studying up to the seventh grade at Mir Kasem Bahumukhi High School, he came to Dhaka to learn AC repair work and started learning at Transcom Electronics in Jatrabari.
Current Condition of the Martyr's Family
Shahid Abdul Kaiyum's elder brother lives in the UAE. He went there three months ago with a loan of four lakh taka. His middle brother works as a carpenter. His only sister is married. The elderly father has no income. Kaiyum wanted to join his brothers in supporting the family, but that was not to be. His parents are devastated by the loss of their beloved youngest son.
How He Became a Martyr
Abdul Kaiyum joined the student movement rally from Jatrabari Transcom Electronics Limited where he was learning his trade. On July 18, while returning from a procession in the Kajla area, he was shot by police. He was riddled with bullets and died shortly after due to the continuous bleeding.
