Incident Details & Martyrdom Narrative

Shahid Md. Rayhan was the only hope of Mr. Mozammel Hossain's family. He came from a low-income family. Shahid Rayhan was born in Noakhali and spent his childhood there. His father, Mr. Mozammel Hossain, moved from Noakhali to Dhaka when he was seven years old. He works as a caretaker in a building. His mother, Amena Khatun, is a housewife. Shahid Rayhan was the elder son among Mr. Mofazzal Hossain's one son and one daughter. Shahid Md. Rayhan was a struggling youth from a poor family. He dreamed of pursuing higher education, overcoming poverty and adversity. A senior from his village helped him to realize his dream. Md. Rayhan came to Dhaka city and got admitted to Gulshan Commerce College. He was then attending his HSC exams. His parents dreamed that their son would grow up and alleviate the suffering of their family. Their son would become a great man, and after getting a good job, he would take responsibility for the family. But Shahid Rayhan, of the anti-discrimination student movement, could not complete his HSC 2024 exam. He had to give his life to the hyenas' attack. The autocratic killer Hasina shattered the dream of Mr. Mozammel Hossain's family. Shahid Rayhan was a very honest, brave, and responsible young man. He was very caring and respectful towards his family and relatives. He was trustworthy and loved by everyone.
Description of the Martyrdom Incident
The quota reform movement of the anti-discrimination student movement began in July. Students protested for the logical demand of reforming the 56 percent quota. The student league's goon squads, helmet forces, youth league's terrorist forces, and Awami police force brutally attacked the peaceful student movement. This brutal attack on students and the public was carried out from July 16, 2024, on the peaceful movement. They committed the most heinous crimes of human rights violations, such as searching houses, shooting in the alleys, and brutally firing with the help of helicopters from the sky. Indiscriminately tear gas, rubber bullets, bullets, etc., were fired all over the country on numerous students, farmers, laborers, rickshaw pullers, Laguna drivers, bus drivers, car drivers, hawkers, etc.
Nearly 1,000 students and people were brutally killed across the country. The quota reform movement of the anti-discrimination student movement gradually took the form of a one-point movement, i.e., the movement for the fall of the autocratic government. The "Dhaka to March" program was announced for the 5th. Millions of people across the country, including Dhaka city, took to the streets. On Hasina's orders, the police, BGB, RAB, and the terrorists of the student league, youth league, and Awami League also opened fire that day. However, Hasina was forced to flee the country after being defeated by the patriotic citizens. Even though she fled in the afternoon, the police continued to shoot students and the public in many places in Dhaka until night. As a result, countless lives were lost even after the victory.
Despite being an HSC examinee, Shahid Md. Rayhan left his house after lunch. He joined the logical movement of the students and the public. The illegal Hasina's police shot the students and the public there from the front. Even though the illegal killer Hasina fled, her police league force continued to shoot at the students and the public. He also built a united resistance there in the ranks of the students and the public. At 3:45 pm, a police bullet hit his head. Shahid Rayhan was quickly taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. But unfortunately, he died on the spot. After being taken to the hospital, he was initially identified as unknown. Later, his identification was possible through his family and acquaintances.

Shahid Mohammad Rayhan's father works as a caretaker in a building. His monthly income is only twelve thousand taka. He is the sole breadwinner of his family. They have only 2 decimals of land in their village, which is the family's only asset. It has become difficult for Shahid's father's family to meet their daily expenses.
