Md. Hasan

Shahid Md. Hasan was born on June 1, 2012, in Kasharpar village, Sonaimuri Municipality, Noakhali District. His father's name is Mamun Uddin, and he is a hawker. His mother's name is Shahin Akter, and she is a housewife. Shahid Hasan could not study due to his family's poverty. After gaining basic literacy from Sonaimuri Government Girls' Primary School, he tried to support his family with his father. Until his martyrdom, he helped his father with his professional work and worked as a day laborer in various places.
How Hasan Became a Martyr
August 5, 2024, Monday, was one of the days of victory in Bangladesh's history. On this day, the people of Bangladesh were freed from the autocratic rule of Hasina, which had lasted for over a decade and a half. The cunning Hasina fled to India by helicopter, leaving the people in oppression and torture. Upon hearing the news of the killer Sheikh Hasina's escape, the people of this country took to the streets to celebrate with victory processions. Every alleyway in Bangladesh resounded with slogans, "Sheikh Hasina has fled, has fled." Various revolutionary slogans repeatedly echoed in the thunderous voices of the angry freedom-seeking students and people, which made the streets even more vibrant. While the jubilant crowd was passing in front of the Sonaimuri police station with a victory procession, the police, panicked, opened fire indiscriminately on the public. Md. Hasan was also part of this procession. Many were injured and killed in the police's indiscriminate firing. Child martyr Md. Hasan was hit by a bullet and embraced martyrdom on the spot.
Funeral and Burial
Shahid Md. Hasan's funeral prayers were held in his village. After the funeral, he was buried in Kasharpar.

Shahid Hasan's father is a hawker. They were two brothers and two sisters. He was the eldest among the siblings. His younger sister, Jinia Akter, studies in the fourth grade at Sonaimuri Government Primary School. His brother Hossain is three years old, and he has another six-month-old sister named Fatema Akter. His family is now mourning the loss of Shahid Hasan. The family's dream was that Shahid Hasan would grow up and take responsibility for everyone. But before taking responsibility, he drank the nectar of martyrdom in his childhood. His mother is now almost reckless (out of her mind) after losing her son. The little brothers and sisters are not yet old enough to understand that their older brother is no longer in this world. His mother, Shahin Akter, says, "What was the fault, what was the crime of my innocent child Shahid Hasan, I really want to know. Why did they empty my chest, who did it? I want everyone to be hanged!"

Undoubtedly, Shahid Md. Hasan is a bird of paradise. He will fly as a bird in paradise. He was not at fault. He was an innocent minor boy. The monstrous Awami police killed him indiscriminately. They untimely removed him from this world. Shahid Hasan created history by sacrificing his life at a young age for the liberation of this nation. Wherever the history of the freedom-seeking people of this country is written, Shahid Md. Hasan's name will shine brightly forever.
